This 15-hour course is a compilation of the first season of Live With Gil, a series of nine diverse episodes exploring all manner of topics of keen interest to somanauts. In these 90-minute Zoom sessions, Gil addresses and discusses topics of interest ranging over issues of anatomical import to life in general, usually with the company of special guests who are luminaries and experts in their respective bodywork or movement field. Each session ends with an interactive Q&A, in which the community shares questions, insights, and reflections.
Season One includes:
This 5 hr/CE credit course includes all 7 video segments from the Vancouver, BC presentation of the What's the Fuzz?! presentation, as well as an assessment to review and reinforce the concepts presented in the talk, plus three bonus readings. Throughout the program you will explore and deepen your knowledge of the role of fascia in healthy movement, and movement limitations.
The course is based directly on Gil's most recent lab research, expanding considerably upon what he presented as a keynote speaker at the British Fascia Symposium in 2016, and forming the basis of his 46 city speaking tour in 2017.
Several different types of fascia are explored with images and footage from the lab in order to explain the different anatomy and properties of the tissues that lend themselves to our movement function. You can expect to come away from this with a perspective that you can immediately apply in your life, in your professional work, and in your movement practice.
Anatomy from A to Z is a comprehensive 19-course series that details the human form from an integral anatomy perspective. This journey explores two models: Anna and Z so that you can see the unique variations between two different forms. This HD video exploration reflects more than 16 months of work in the lab. Material is released as it is edited by Gil. The program includes the following courses:
This 8.5 hour course is composed of five groundbreaking keynote addresses delivered by Gil over the course of 2020 and 2021, including presentations from the Embodiment Conference, World Fascia Conference, British Fascia Conference, and Fascia Hub. These presentations often include as-of-yet-unseen footage from the lab and share some of Gil’s most recent discoveries.
This course includes the following presentations:
This 9 hr/CE version of the course includes the entire 4 feature length volumes of The Integral Anatomy Series, an assessment to reinforce the material, a PDF download of the Workshop Handbook, and Certificate of Completion for 9 hr/CE when finished. The Workshop Handbook is the textual accompaniment studied by thousands of somanauts as course support for the 6-Day Intensive Hands on Dissection Workshop. It is included here as an enrollment bonus. Enjoy!
The Integral Anatomy Series demonstrates the whole body, layer-by-layer, integral approach to anatomy as developed and taught by Gil Hedley, Ph.D., since 1994, and published on DVD between 2005 and 2009. On-camera dissection shot from the viewers' perspective enables a visual, dimensional grasp of the material with a transformational effect on one's perspective and touch.
This 6 hr/CE credit course includes seven videos that will take you on a layer by layer tour of the human form. Based on the live, daylong presentation that Gil toured and refined for seven years until 2012, this course represents the culmination of years of research and learning.
Illustrated with images from the lab and our culture at large, this course provides a powerful shift in perspective on the human body that will impact how you connect with both yourself and others. For bodyworkers and movement specialists, this course will add depth and dimension to your work with your students and clients. This course builds and expands upon Gil’s 4 feature length volumes of The Integral Anatomy Series.
In this course, our teacher and donor form is Margaret: a female, unfixed form. Through these sessions - captured in HD over the course of a six day journey, we explore in detail through the textured layers of the body: skin, superficial fascia, deep fascia, perifascia, abdominal viscera, and thoracic viscera. Some of the special features of this donor form include an exploration of the superficial fascia, a tour of the heart and thoracic space (including the diaphragm), a tour of the kidneys, and investigation of a knee replacement.
Join us on a dissection journey to explore a male, fixed form. Through these sessions - captured in HD over the course of a six day journey, we journey in detail through the textured layers of the body: skin, superficial fascia, deep fascia, perifascia, abdominal viscera, and thoracic viscera. In addition to surveying these layers, we will have the unique opportunity to explore intact male pars intima (with foreskin), dissect the gluteal muscles and deep six lateral rotators, tour the abdominal and thoracic organs (including seeing the artifacts of open heart surgery), perform an abdominal evisceration, and tour both the brain, cranial nerves, and spinal cord.
In this course, you will explore the female pars intima through an introduction to Gil’s beautiful, handcrafted pars intima model. Each individual piece is uniquely handcrafted by Gil from a single turning of one full Troy oz of .999 silver wire to represent the uniqueness and preciousness of the human form. This introductory course also includes a special 90-minute Live With Gil session “Sex Ed - Clitoral Anatomy, with Sue Hitzmann” in which Gil and Sue explore both the anatomical as well as emotional aspects of the pars intima.
