In the 19th course of our journey โ€œAnatomy from A to Z,โ€ we explore the bones and structure of the axial skeleton.ย

This course includes a detailed exploration and dissection of the bones of the axial skeleton, including both in-situ and ex-situ detailing of joints, movements, ligaments, muscular attachments, and key bony landmarks. Bones and joints explored include the pelvis and spine, including the details of the sacrum, coccyx, and all vertebrae. Participants will first meet these structures in-situ and gain a greater appreciation of their contexts and relationships, then explore these bones ex-situ to gain a deeper understanding of bony variation and landmarks. Through this experience, participants will gain a detailed understanding of the relationships between these bones and joints. Through cultivating a greater appreciation of the human form, participants will be better able to apply their anatomical knowledge to their bodywork and movement practices.
