A-Z Course 5 (12 HR/CE)
Enjoy lifetime access to this online course.
In the fifth course of our journey through “Anatomy from A to Z,” we begin to explore the textural layer of muscle tissues of the abdominals and intercostals.
This course includes a detailed exploration and dissection of the muscle tissues of the abdominals and intercostals, including the rectus abdominis, pyramidalis, external obliques, internal obliques, transversus abdominis, cremaster, intercostals, and innermost intercostals. Through this experience, participants will gain a rich and deep understanding of the continuities, connections, and relationships between these named muscles and the tissues that surround them, including bony landmarks, fasciae, and visceral elements, including the phrenic nerve, vagus nerve, pleura, transversalis fascia, and endothoracic fascia. Structures will also be compared ex-situ to provide an appreciation for the diversity and range of anatomical expression. Through cultivating a greater appreciation of the human form, participants will be better able to apply their anatomical knowledge to their bodywork and movement practices.
